Moustached Warbler (Acrocephalus melanopogon)

An uncommon resident waterside warbler found in several locations in west-central Portugal.

In appearance Moustached Warblers are very similar to the passage Sedge Warbler, and have similar habits also, so care is needed for a positive id. Diagnostic differences between the two species depend more than anything upon the length of the primary projection and the brightness of the supercilium.
