Little Stint (Calidris minuta) Pilrito-pequeno

Little Stints can be found both on migration and during the winter months anywhere along the coast of Portugal.

Though Little Stints have two obvious white stripes running down their backs which is normally enough to make a positive id if they can be seen, during the winter their plumage resembles that of Sanderlings and it can be difficult to tell them apart. However, they are appreciably smaller than Sanderlings and their size is normally noticeable.
