(European) Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) Chapim-azul

Despite being thinner on the ground here than in more northerly climes, Blue Tits are common and widespread throughout the country, equally at home both in woodland and urban habitats. They are unafraid of Man and approach fearlessly, but they are frequently the eyes and ears of the bird world, warning all around of danger's approach. As such they are the major "pishing" bird for the area and the reason why most species pop up to have a look when one pishes is that the sounds we make are reminiscent of the Blue Tit's alarm call.
