Redwing (Turdus iliacus) Tordo-ruivo-comum

 A small Thrush that prefers it colder than we usually experience here in Portugal, this species is only a winter visitor and in the south is confined only to the highest hills. As mentioned, it is a small example of this family, and that, along with the obvious red underwing, (that gives the bird its name), and the bold white supercilium, is usually enough to distinguish it from any other bird in the country.
