Bluethroat (Luscinia svecica)

Bluethroats are an over-wintering species on reed-fringed coastal lakes and saline or brackish pools with thick undergrowth. Apart from the obvious blue throat of the male, all plumage variations have a prominent white supercilium and rusty-red tail base, and, though shy, will perch in the open from time to time without apparent stress.
