Ferruginous Duck (Aythea nyroca) Zarro-castanho

Though noted as being more common in the eastern half of the Western Palearctic, there is a small breeding population of Ferruginous Ducks in the south of the country which can be approached easily enough. The male's white eye makes it stand out from any crowd, though beware mixing it with a Tufted Duck in poor light.
