Though not listed in any reference book that I've come across as being a "Portuguese" species, I saw a pair of Canada Geese a few years ago over-wintering at Salgados, ("Pera Marsh" to some), down in the Algarve. These might obviously have been escapees from a collection, but I thought it necessary to include them in this list simply as a record of their presence in the country.
