True Rock Doves are the original breeding stock from which all feral pigeons are descended and as such are extremely rare nowadays, there being many birds that are a cross between the two, but here in Portugal one can come across flocks of pure-bred Rock Doves along the cliffs of the West Coast and have very close views of this normally difficult species.
