Crested Lark (Galerida cristata) Cotovia-de-poupa

Crested Larks are really two a dozen in the south of the country, though beware of the very similar Thekla Lark. The crest of the Crested is "pointier" with the first feather of the crest being appreciably longer than the remainder. The Crested also has a longer beak and it is slightly down-curved. Often found in pairs. Call melancholic.
