A small resident Egret that nests colonially, the Cattle Egret is a ubiquitous species, usually found in groups and usually in the presence of livestock which it accompanies, feeding on the insects disturbed by the animal's hooves. Normally pure white with a yellow bill, in breeding plumage the male has an orange crown, chest and back along with a bright orange bill.
