Another favourite species of mine as I cannot get over their basic beauty, especially in winter plumage. They are essentially a winter visitor, arriving in the south of the country at the end of October, though never here forming the murmurations that are part of the "Starling Experience" farther north.
There is a "Wow!" video I took in the pictures below of a murmuration of Satrlings departing their roost on an early morning over the Somerset levels in the UK.
However, just to put a spanner in the works, I have photos of a flock of several hundred juvenile Common Starlings here at the end of August, so maybe there's something we don't know yet?
